Hello, 2018! Hope you all had wonderful holidays with friends and family. It’s been a little while since my last post on here, so I thought I’d start off this year with my 8 goals for 2018.
1. Learn to Cook
Truth be told, I’m a lazy person. I hate meal planning and going grocery shopping, which means I end up going out to eat when I’m hungry. This year, I want to spend more time planning out my meals and finding more interesting recipes to cook.
2. Drinking More Water
I swear 95% of my headaches come from not drinking enough water. So many times I go out shopping or to run errands and don’t drink anything for hours. I’ve been trying to get better at bringing a reusable bottle with me most days. I also recently downloaded a water reminder app because I don’t trust myself to reminder during the days.
3. Make Lists
I’m so bad for buying cute planners and using them for a week and promptly forgetting about it. This year, I’ve been trying to make more lists to keep myself accountable and more on track with my weeks.
4. Out with the Old
I haven’t done a good closet decluttering in a long time and I have been hoarding so many sentimental pieces. This year, I really want to pair down my closet with things I really love and wear often.
5. Wash my Makeup Brushes
I’m terrible this. So often I realized weeks have gone by without properly washing my brushes. Which is disgusting when I’m using them at least 4x per week. This year, I’m trying to set a goal of washing them at least twice per month.
6. Learn how to Watercolor Paint
This was a goal I had last year and completely dropped the ball on it. I’ve always loved the look of watercolor paintings but I have zero artistic ability when it comes to painting. I figure it will be a fun and challenging skill to learn. Let’s hope I can stick through with it this time!
7. Continue Developing My Photography + Editing Skills
I’m my own worst critic when it comes to photography. I usually go through the process of being excited by the photos I take, then hating them when it comes to editing it and then eventually being OK with how it turned out. This year, I’d like to focus on developing my composition and finding my own style editing photos.
8. Blog Consistently
When I started this blog in October, I had a vague idea of how much work went into having one. I must say I completely underestimated how long it takes to do one post (at least 8 hrs between shooting, editing, writing, editing again, formatting and then posting). I was doing well with the once-a-week posts in the beginning but things went a little crazy in December. This year, I’d like to focus being more consistent and find topics I’m interested in writing about.
Anyhow, that concludes my way-too-long post about my 2018 goals. I’d love to hear what goals you have for this year!
